Eyes on the Prize
Our Presiding Bishop wrote The Episcopal Church today with a stirring message about Christ in the stranger's guise.
And I came this evening across an address by The Rt. Rev. Michael Curry, Bishop of North Carolina, to his Diocesan Convention. . .and, to some extent, to the Anglican Communion.
Before there was schism, before there was orthodoxy, before there was heresy and dueling bishops, there was Christ and his disciples in the midst of stormy seas.
At the end of the day, this is who we are as a church: disciples with Christ, a stranger, welcomed into our storm-tossed boat as Savior and Friend.
Two Spirit-filled reflections for troubled hearts and troubled times.
