Summing Up. . .

. . . my week in the blogosphere. Ah, how the classics still speak to our day!

I gotta hand it to you for trying to talk to that bunch as if they were rational beings. You did a fine job holding your own!

Padre, thanks for the compliment.

I think "they" are "we" who all tend to be rational or not as it best suits our particular purpose.

Not all the T1:9 comments were unreasoned or unhelpful. I think their poking and prodding helped me in a number of ways, particularly as the impetus for my previous post here.

In any case, it was quite a bracing experience for me, who doesn't usually dwell too long in the threads of ad hominem and anonymous abuse. But, hey, gotta take the good with the bad, right?

But, it is true, "Nobody expects the Spanish inquisition!" I hardly expected the reaction I received.

Good to hear from you, old friend.

I quit reading there, but I read the thread about you because of a Facebook link. I really get upset when the folks there bad-mouth my friends, and this is not the first time. They don't know they people they disparage, while I do. Of course, I don't know them and I guess I do the same thing!

I stopped going there after arguing with a group who were obviously racist in their attacks on any inclusion of the rites of Indigenous peoples in Episcopal services. I decided that reading their hatred was hurting my soul.

Hey, I hope to return to the U.S. sometime this year (once I find a job) and I really want to reconnect!
